Dr. Adina Safi-Aghdam is a psychiatrist and mental health researcher dedicated to providing thoughtful, research-informed mental health treatment to adults across life span. Her clinical interest focuses on treatment resistant depression, anxiety, trauma-related conditions. She combines a collaborative, patient-centered approach with a strong foundation in academic medicine and neuroscience research.
Dr. Safi-Aghdam's clinical psychiatric training at the Maimonides Medical center in NYC, and currently at the University of Minnesota, combined with her extensive research experience gives her an outstanding ability to provide excellent evidence-based patient care. She has been involved in clinical and research initiatives focused on mood disorders, PTSD, neuroplasticity, and innovative approaches to mental health treatment. Her academic work has included research on psychedelic-assisted therapy, resilience, and the biological foundations of emotional well-being.
She is especially passionate about creating a safe, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental space where patients feel heard and empowered in their care. Dr. Safi-Aghdam works closely with each individual to develop personalized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle interventions, and integrative approaches tailored to each patient’s goals and values.
